I recently had to buy a new miter saw for a new project that I started. I have always owned different brands with this type of tool, but found a Dewalt factory reconditioned tool that was a really good price. As with my previous reconditioned models that I own, I was amazed how great the DW713R Heavy-Duty 10 Inch Compound Miter Saw looked. It didn’t come in the same box as the new ones come in, but opening it up you would think that it was new. It was very well packed and did not have a single scratch on it. Compared to other branded miter saws that I’ve owned (such as Makita and Craftsman) this thing is better by a mile.

The first thing that struck me about this Dewalt factory reconditioned tool was the build quality. There are far less dinky plastic parts in important areas of the tool, such as the table and miter gauge. Speaking of the Miter gauge, this part really couldn’t be better made because it is completely constructed of metal. It is build very sturdy so you can be confident that you are getting the desired angles.

I big complaint that I had with my old miter saws was the way the collected the saw dust. It would always go everywhere and cause a big mess. The Dewalt factory reconditioned miter saw is very good at throwing all the dust out the back, so you don’t even really need to connect a vacuum to it.

Even though I ended up buying a better blade for it, the one that it comes with is pretty good. It really depends on what you’re doing, but if you don’t need to do crown moldings or base board moldings like me, then the stock blade with be good enough for you.

I really couldn’t be happier with this saw, and the fact that Dewalt factory reconditioned tools are so good, makes this purchase even better.

A lot of people cannot afford to buy the best of everything. This is unfortunate because sometime it is the people who can't afford them need them most. For me, power tools is one thing that I need very often for my job. I am a self employed handy man who a lot of people in my neighborhood rely on for their construction needs. I can't just use crummy Black and Decker tools for my jobs, since these would constantly break when subjected to constant heavy duty use. I need the best - and for me, that's Dewalt. These are the Rolls Royce of cordless power tools, and obviously come at a premium. Therefore, I buy Dewalt factory reconditioned power tools exclusively. I save at least 10% compared to buying a brand new model from Dewalt. This has added up to many hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars over the years. I would not be able to use Dewalt cordless power tools if it were not for these reconditioned ones, and would have to settle from a lesser brand.

I have never had any problems with Dewalt factory reconditioned power tools. Before I knew about these refurbished models, I had purchase some brand new Dewalts to test out. If I compare the new and reconditioned tools, I really can't tell them apart. Sometimes you can see a few scratches on the plastics pieces of the tool, but this really shouldn't be a deal breaker for any professional users. After one tough job with a "new" reconditioned tool, you will have plenty more scratches on it. Otherwise, I have never had one of my tools break prematurely on me. They work exactly the same as a brand new model, and even come with the same one year warranty.

I urge everyone to consider buying a Dewalt factory reconditioned tool. You will see what a blessing they are! Don't settle for anything less than Dewalt, but save your money and go for the refurbished ones.
